Community Challenge Coalition

The Fairview Park Community Challenge Coalition is based on the premise of community building and includes participants from a variety of segments within the city of Fairview Park.  Representation and diversity are key components in building this coalition. The Coalition was founded utilizing a systematic community-wide approach to preventing alcohol and drug abuse in Fairview Park.  The purpose of the coalition is as follows:

Fairview Park’s Community Challenge Coalition promotes smart choices among families to prevent the use and abuse of Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs.

The Fairview Park Community Challenge Coalition primary goals include:

1.      Increasing prevention, education and awareness activities about underage ATOD use/abuse and its effects and consequences.

2.      To provide for community based communication, coordination, and funding of underage ATOD initiatives.

3.      To increase enforcement strategies for illegal purchase, possession, and sale of ATOD to youth under the age of twenty one.

4.      To expand and create policy initiatives that promote solutions and barriers regarding underage ATOD use/abuse.
