Event: The YRBS is an instrument designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide information about the health risk behaviors of adolescents in the United States. Data are used to provide a clear, concise picture of national trends as well as to track risk behaviors in many major U.S. cities. Locally, The Center for Adolescent Health at Case Western Reserve University has been actively involved in the administration of the YRBS since 1996. Panelists will present national and local trends in youth behaviors as well as discuss the value of local surveillance data. They will highlight local collaborative efforts to use the data for youth programs.
